The 5th CybersecAsia Readers’ Choice Awards honors Asia Pacific’s leaders in cybersecurity for the critical roles played and the huge advances and innovations made over the last two years.

SINGAPORE, 16 SEPTEMBER 2024 – While more has been invested into cybersecurity, organizations across Asia Pacific have also seen an onslaught of security breaches hogging the headlines – and Board and C-suite executives have had to consider the inevitability of cyber-attacks as well as the consequences of more stringent compliance requirements.

Fortunately for CISOs and cybersecurity teams in the region, solution and service providers have also been innovating and working closely with governments, industry partners and enterprises for counterstrategies and solutions.

This year’s CybersecAsia Readers’ Choice Awards saw 21 cybersecurity solution and service providers recognized for their innovative solutions in 18 main categories – and a special recognition Rising Star Awards category for newcomers to the Asia Pacific region.

A total of 111 nominations were submitted, with details of technology innovations, real-world challenges addressed, and Asia Pacific customer successes. Our editors and advisors culled the list down to 88 finalists, and these were put up online for readers’ votes in July and August 2024.

Each of the 1,126 qualified voters – from end-user organizations in the region – was allowed to give their nods to two vendors in each category, and the nominees with the highest vote count in each category emerged as the winners.

This year being the 5th year of the Awards, a prestigious Hall of Fame has also been set up to honor cybersecurity leaders and innovators who have won a CybersecAsia award at least 4 times in the last 5 years.

Thought leadership

At the Awards Ceremony held on 13th September 2024, enterprise thought leaders shared their perspectives on and approaches to the future of cybersecurity, in a panel discussion moderated by CybersecAsia Editor-in-Chief Victor Ng. Sharing the stage were:

  • David Tay, CIO Asia, Lendlease
  • Wayne Fok, Senior Specialist, Informatics and Security, Tan Tock Seng Hospital

The audience of 80 in-person attendees – and more watching the livestream of the event virtually –also had the privilege of hearing from keynote speaker Prof. Alex Siow from the School of Computing, NUS, unveiling the cybersecurity trends and developments in 2024, as well as the cyberthreat landscape we can expect in 2025 and beyond.

A special breakout executive lunch roundtable discussion was also conducted, courtesy of Tenable. In the discussion moderated by CybersecAsia Editor-in-Chief Victor Ng, Tenable senior executives Jack Wang and Henry Ong engaged seven cybersecurity leaders and practitioners from across major industry sectors on the topic Exposure Management & the Future of Cyber-Defense.

Lots of interest was generated from the three though leadership sessions, especially with regards to the impact of AI, and how observability and platformization undergird cyber-defense in a cloud- and AI-driven digital economy.
