Verizon 2025 Mobile Security Index Report

By Verizon Business | Monday, October 27, 2025, 12:24 PM Asia/Singapore

Verizon 2025 Mobile Security Index Report

AI-powered attacks and human error create “perfect storm” for organizations.

The biggest security threat for organizations today could literally be in the palm of every employee’s hand.

Verizon Business has released the 2025 Mobile Security Index (MSI) report, revealing a “perfect storm” of mobile risk driven by the explosive adoption of generative AI (genAI).

Mobile attacks are already increasing (85% of organizations report a rise), but the combination of genAI and human error creates the new epicenter of organizational risk.

Crucially, 93% of employees are using genAI on mobile devices for work, yet only 17% of businesses have specific security controls against these new AI-assisted attacks.

This is a severe gap, especially as 64% of organizations see data compromise through genAI as their top mobile risk.

The 2025 MSI, which surveyed security professionals globally, aims to help businesses of all sizes understand this new threat landscape and adapt their defenses through a multi-layered approach, robust employee training, and clear AI usage policies.
