Tenants of the AIRSIDE office tower in Hong Kong are the first to experience the ESG-friendly app for accessing the building
Nan Fung Group (Nan Fung), a privately-held conglomerate in Hong Kong SAR, with global interests in real estate development, has introduce a new employee badge in Apple Wallet for tenants and employees at its commercial property located at the heart of the new Central Business District in Kai Tak.
Building users can now safely and easily gain contactless access to the AIRSIDE office tower with just a simple tap of their Apple-branded device to unlock office doors, turnstiles, elevators, key card-protected amenity spaces, and even copy machines — eliminating the need to open an app or present a traditional, plastic access key.
Employees of the building’s tenants can add their employee badge to Apple Wallet after an initial set-up through the group’s official building management app. Once added, the badge will confer specific access rights instantly. Also, employees will not need to unlock their smart device to use their badge in Apple Wallet. If an iPhone needs to be charged, employees can still use their device to access their office or amenity areas.
The employee data it is never shared with Apple or stored on Apple servers. If an employee’s smart device is misplaced, the owner of the device can promptly use the Find My app to lock the device and help locate it.
Said the firm’s Executive Director of Hong Kong Property, Billy Hui: “We prioritize the comfort and satisfaction of our valued office tenants and their employees by embracing technology and forward-thinking solutions. This significant advancement marks a new era of convenience and efficiency within our organization. Looking ahead, we are eager to explore additional opportunities to further enhance the office employee experience.”
According to Jerry Wang, Regional Head (North Asia), Physical Access Control Solutions, HID, the manufacturer of the smart badge, the integration of HID-enabled employee badges merges advanced security, effortless accessibility and great convenience. Additionally, the building’s tenant portal has features for reviewing Environmental, Social and Governance performance, reading building maintenance notices and even tenant-only promotions and loyalty schemes.
