Cybercriminals have exponentially increased attacks using automated bots, cutting down on human-initiated attacks in APAC.
The COVID-19 pandemic has flipped day-to-day life on its head. While many businesses have been getting back to some semblance of normalcy in recent months, the fraud threats that they face have evolved a great deal during the last year or so.
In particular, according to the latest LexisNexis Risk Solutions Cybercrime Report, automated bot attacks in APAC have increased by a factor of 86% during the first half of 2021, while human-initiated attacks fell by 8% during this period.
APAC countries are facing a higher share of such attacks compared to the global average.
